This Sunday, March 19, Father's Day is celebrated, a very special date in which each year we honor and celebrate the father figure in our lives. This day is an opportunity to let our parents know how important they are to us and recognize their effort and dedication in our upbringing and education, showing our gratitude and affection for instilling in us a multitude of values and teachings from a very young age.
In Spain, the celebration of Father's Day coincides with the festival of San José. We also congratulate from here all those who bear the name of José, Josefina, María José or Pepe. But did you know where the latter comes from? There is a widespread theory that places the possible origin of this name in the abbreviation of "putative father" in reference to the figure of San José himself. Although it is not technically proven that this is the case!
It is also important to remember that The father figure is not only limited to biological parents , as stepfathers, grandparents, uncles and older brothers who have played an important role throughout life can also be honored. Therefore, on this Sunday, March 19, we invite you to celebrate this day in your own way!
